Here's a different song to remember the notes on the treble clef... I am currently in Riga, Latvia, attending the World Choir Games. These are some pictures from the opening ceremony. Flags were brought in from the 74 countries that are represented at this event. Nearly 30'000 singers are coming to Riga to celebrate the power of song!
Mexican composer Silvestre Revueltas. Interesting song using a conch shell! Watch this group play the Bass, Great Bass, Contra Bass, and Sub-Contrabass Recorder! 2nd graders worked on this piece by Edvard Grieg during the month of March. We looked at the rhythms, talked about the author of the story and the composer of the song, did "head, shoulders, knees, toes" movements, and bounced kick balls to the beat. The students really enjoyed this piece. From time to time, I will post music selections in this space. That could be something we are discussing in class at the moment, a fun lesson we recently did, an important musical piece that every one should know, a curious musical discovery, etc. Feel free to leave your comment!

I love teaching music! I love to make students aware of different kinds of music and open the door to new wolds... Archives
